We are seeking a dependable and positive caregiver to assist a woman with paraplegia in her Grand Rapids, MI home. The client is highly motivated, maintains a consistent daily routine, and is actively engaged in Physical Therapy goals. This position is ideal for someone who values a clear structure and a respectful, pleasant workplace.
Shift Availability- 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (Mon, Tue, every other Fri)
- 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Mon, Tue)
- 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (Mon, Tue, every other Fri)
- 7:00 am – 3:00 pm or 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Mon, Tue)
Pay Range: $16–$18 per hour, based on experience and case needs.
Flexible Scheduling: Weekly and daily pay.
About the ClientOur client is a friendly paraplegic woman with a PEG tube, wheelchair‑bound, and limited use of her right hand. She requires assistance with:
- Range‑of‑motion exercises
- Breathing treatments
- Getting dressed
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Transportation to doctor’s appointments; caregiver must be able to transport her.
She currently receives weekly speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
About the RoleCentria caregivers provide essential in‑home support, helping individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent by working one‑on‑one with clients in a private home setting.
Responsibilities- Assist with mobility and transfers to prevent falls.
- Provide basic personal care: hygiene, toileting, dressing.
- Prepare light snacks or drinks upon request.
- Offer companionship and emotional reassurance throughout the shift.
- Assist in positioning and turning to prevent discomfort.
- Document and report changes in client condition promptly.
- Respond to emergencies following proper procedures.
- Perform duties outlined in the patient’s plan of care.
- Monitor client’s physical and mental condition, intake/output, and exercise.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy care environment.
- Follow professional standards, care policies, and local/state/federal requirements.
- CNA, HHA, or equivalent experience in home care preferred.
- Experience working with fall‑risk and mobility‑impaired clients strongly desired.
- Must be comfortable assisting with personal care tasks.
- Reliable, patient, and attentive to individual needs.
- Comfortable working in a private home setting.
- Ability to work independently and follow a care plan.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Comfortable using tablets/computers for documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow all care protocols.
- Ability to address minor medical concerns as they arise.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current CPR Certification.
