Position: Protein Scientist (Cancer Projects)

As a Protein Scientist specialising in Antibody‑Drug Conjugates (ADCs), you will play a key role in laboratory experimentation supporting technology transfer, development, and manufacturing of cutting‑edge oncology products. Your work will directly contribute to developing robust, GMP‑compliant processes that ultimately improve patient outcomes.

  • Plan and execute laboratory experiments and analyses in line with project plans and customer requirements
  • Support technology transfer and development of fit‑for‑purpose processes
  • Accurately record all work in official laboratory notebooks and contribute data to technical reports 📓
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external clients when required 🤝
✅ Quality & Compliance
  • Follow laboratory procedures to ensure work is carried out safely, effectively, and to the required quality standards
  • Adhere strictly to approved protocols and procedures in line with GMP expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Process Development, Analytical Development, QC, and Manufacturing to share data and progress development work
  • Troubleshoot scale‑up activities and offer first‑line technical support
  • Maintain laboratories and associated areas in a controlled and compliant state
  • Ensure safety and hygiene standards are consistently met
  • Comply with COSHH
    , risk assessments, and ESH requirements 🦺
  • Provide on‑the‑job training to new or less experienced colleagues
  • Support training on laboratory procedures and equipment use
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of raw data and analytical interpretation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, safety, and development performance
Skills & Experience Required
  • Protein modification and conjugation chemistry
  • Strong understanding of protein structure and function
  • Background knowledge in organic chemistry
  • Experience with ADC and protein purification
  • Strong data interpretation and reporting skills 📈
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, analytical mindset
