We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major engineering and project delivery environment in Grangemouth on a full-time, permanent employee basis.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility across Estimating, Cost Management, Planning and Commercial functions
, ensuring robust commercial governance, effective project controls and compliance throughout the full contract lifecycle.
The Commercial Manager will provide leadership across the wider commercial and project controls function, working closely with engineering, project management and construction teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing Estimating, Cost, Planning and Document Control personnel
- Managing and escalating commercial and contractual matters
- Identifying and mitigating commercial and delivery risks
- Reviewing project schedules and agreeing mitigation plans where required
- Ensuring project estimates are accurate, appropriately structured and approved
- Providing monthly commercial and project controls reporting
- Maintaining strong commercial governance and delegated authority controls
- Overseeing planning and scheduling practices across the contract
- Managing Work Breakdown Structures and project coding structures
- Monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions where performance falls below expectations
Supporting recruitment, performance management and development of the commercial/project controls team - Working collaboratively across engineering, project management, construction and supporting functions.
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience across Project Planning, Estimating and Cost Control
- Previous experience in a senior Commercial Manager / Project Controls / Commercial leadership role
- Strong understanding of engineering, project management and construction interfaces
- Experience implementing and managing commercial and business processes
- Strong planning and scheduling software experience
- Experience managing and developing teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
