Reports to the Manager, Accounting and Finance. Uses professional accounting skills to perform and to assist in maintaining the quality and integrity essential in all of Memorial's Financial Reporting functions.

- Participate in month‑end close process and general ledger accounts analysis: write and review journal entries, eliminate entries, analyze account activity, reconcile detail‑to‑control totals, prepare and adjust journal entries, prepare related work papers, reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Provide financial information to hospital departments by running computer‑generated reports, responding to departmental financial report questions, assist with testing transactions and related tasks for new system upgrade verification.
- Perform other reporting and analysis: assist in preparing supporting schedules for income and property taxes, observe and report on cyclical inventory taking, audit fixed assets by department.
- Perform other functions to maintain personal competence: complete other job‑related assignments and special projects as directed.
- Attend and participate in department meetings and be accountable for all shared information.
- Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department‑specific education within established time frames.
- Complete annual employee health requirements within established time frames.
- Maintain license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, survey process, and compliance.
- Comply with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime and additional shifts when required.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent; preferred but not required previous accounting experience.
Knowledge & Skills- Technical and professional accounting skills necessary to perform essential functions.
- Familiarity with data processing systems of both personal computers and mainframes.
- Analytical skills necessary to prepare and analyze accounting data and reports.
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with co‑workers, managers and others outside the Hospital/Health System.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a 10‑key calculator, PC and various computer systems (A/R, GL, etc.).
Works in an office environment.
