Position: Technical Support Specialist I

About the Role

Beacon Health System is hiring a Technical Support Specialist I to provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of personal computer and server equipment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and replace PC and server hardware and software.
  • Verify new computer systems are functioning correctly and provide basic training to end users.
  • Maintain documentation according to departmental policies.
  • Diagnose and resolve PC-related problems by contacting end users and, if necessary, coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Reimage computer hardware and maintain related records.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and printer-related network issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain records, reports, and files as required and assist in the care of department facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.

  • Attend and participate in department meetings.

  • Maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required.

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a computer‑related field (or equivalent coursework).
  • Preferred experience using computer hardware and software applications pertinent to Beacon Health System.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Technical knowledge of computer operations.
  • Installation skills for PC/server hardware and software.
  • Organization and time‑management skills to prioritize requests.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and detail‑orientation skills.
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills at all staff levels.
Working Conditions
