Counselor/Social Worker will provide therapeutic intervention and consultation to students and their families, and provide individual, group, family therapy, and crisis intervention for students as needed.
Core Accountabilities Clinical- Provide clinical service delivery for individuals on assigned caseload.
- Implement daily social emotional group lessons.
- Provide crisis management to students as needed.
- Conduct intake and biopsychosocial assessments and provide case management.
- Work in collaboration with teachers and paraprofessionals regarding students’ academic and behavioral concerns, interpersonal relationships, and coping skills.
- Counsel with students outside of their caseload on an as needed basis or at supervisor's request.
- Serve as liaison between CYHS and outside agencies that provide services to our students.
- Serve as a liaison to families for students on caseload.
- Assist in completing any necessary paperwork for special education students to keep IEP’s updated and participate in meetings.
- Administer standardized testing to students on assigned caseload.
- Assist with coverage when staff are absent, as determined by the supervisor.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-services as required.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and administration to implement school policies and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in social work or counseling preferred. Bachelor’s degree in social work or counseling required. Must be willing to obtain a master's degree in social work or counseling and become licensed.
- ISBE school counselor or social work endorsement, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.
- Minimum of at least two years of social work/counseling experience preferred.
- Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties preferred. This experience should include work with adolescents and families utilizing therapeutic interventions.
- Positive, empathetic approach and ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students and families.
- The ability to work and interact with all school personnel and students in a cooperative, collaborative and courteous manner.
- Ability to work under stressful situations.
- Must have effective organizational skills, time management, and flexibility to meet staff and students’ needs.
- Have a willingness to assume any responsibilities appropriate for the position.

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
