Senior Network Engineer

Job Description

Pay Range: $50.63/hr - $55.84/hr

• The Network Engineer III will serve in a project support role as part of the Data Networking team, providing technical pre-planning, design, deployment, testing, and migration support for plant networking operations.
• This role focuses on wireline networking with a strong emphasis on OT process networks, fiber optic networking, and related technologies within a heavy industrial environment.

• Provide technical solution pre-planning, design, deployment, testing, and migration support for plant networking tasks.
• Act as the primary technical owner for IT/OT data networks, including ticket and incident response, project support, and operational ownership.
• Participate as a fully integrated member of assigned project teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Lead data network incident and event management activities, including investigation, troubleshooting, reporting, resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
• Participate in and advise on the design of network solutions using approved standard technologies in collaboration with peers, vendors, and partners.
• Monitor data networks for performance, security, and stability, proactively identifying trends and addressing issues.
• Support all phases of project deployment from planning and design through physical installation.
• Perform hands-on deployment of networking equipment in a heavy-industry environment as required.

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and provide on‑call support as required.
• Work flexible hours to support outages, migrations, and on‑call activities.

• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise data networking technologies, including LAN switching and routing in a Cisco enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting OT and process networking, including Cisco IE and related technologies.
• Strong experience with structured cabling solutions, with emphasis on fiber optic networking technologies, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating OTDR and related fiber testing equipment.

• Proven experience supporting enterprise and industrial networking environments.
• Hands‑on experience with IT/OT network operations and project deployments.

• WLAN fundamentals and experience supporting Cisco wireless solutions.
• Cisco CCNA certification or higher.
• Experience using WLAN tools such as Ekahau or equivalent.
• Project management experience or certification.

• Advanced IP routing knowledge, including OSPF and BGP design proficiency.
• Data center networking experience, including Cisco Nexus platforms.
• Internet routing and network security fundamentals.
• Experience with network security controls and best practices.
• Scripting or programming experience in networking environments, such as Ansible.

• Relevant technical education or equivalent professional experience in enterprise and industrial networking environments.
