Gateway Regional Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team.

As a Medical/Surgical RN, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population while working closely with the interdisciplinary care team.
You’ll:
- Assess patients and recognize changes in condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Use clinical judgment to prioritize care and respond to changing patient needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, diagnoses, and discharge needs.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and quality outcomes.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation. /li>
- Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and transitions of care.
- Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity and respect.
- Contribute to a positive, professional team culture.
- Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.
We're looking for an RN who:
- Comfortable with 2-day a week schedule.
- Takes pride in providing safe, compassionate patient care.
- Can recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Communicates clearly and works well with others.
- Can prioritize effectively in a busy acute-care environment.
- Is dependable and accountable.
- Treats patients, families, and coworkers with respect.
- Is willing to learn, grow, and contribute to the team.
- Understands that teamwork is essential to excellent patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois
. - Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Ability to successfully complete hospital orientation and required competency requirements.
- Medical/Surgical or other acute-care nursing experience.
- Current ACLS certification
. - Experience caring for patients with multiple medical diagnoses or complex care needs.
New graduate RNs may be considered.
