Hours:
Four shifts per week to take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and the occasional Saturday. Two shifts must be day shifts (approx. 9am to 3pm), one evening shift (approx. 2pm to 8pm), and one longer day (approx. 8am to 6pm / 8pm).
There is some flexibility with this rota for the perfect candidate.
NSS PLUS LTD (Neuro Support Services) is a specialist provider dedicated to helping individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) regain independence and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking professional Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Grantham.
The Role
Our client is a 20-year old female, who has an acquired brain injury, is partially-sighted, and has learning difficulties. She communicates well, enjoys an active social life, and has a great sense of humour.
Your role will be to support and empower her to achieve her life goals, working alongside her family and a multidisciplinary team of therapists. You will provide support with:
* Prompting and support with shopping, meal preparation, and domestic tasks
* Budgeting, and daily money management
* Nutrition, and weight management
* Transporting to/and supporting with activities
* Encouraging independence with daily routines
This is a hands-on, active role, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, wants to make a genuine difference, and can strike the right balance between fun and firm guidance.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:
* UK
Experience:
At least 6 months of UK-based support worker experience (within the last 3 years).
* Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work use.
* Communication:
Clear, fluent English is essential.
* Status:
Applicants must be willing to work on a self-employed basis.
* CV:
Your CV must clearly highlight your relevant experience and qualifications.
Preferred Candidate Profile
* Experience in Brain Injury (ABI/TBI), stroke, dementia, or aphasia is highly advantageous.
* Background in Psychology (Graduates are encouraged to apply) or as a Therapy Assistant, Rehabilitation Support Worker, Healthcare Assistants, or Care Worker
* Ability to work on your own initiative while being a key part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
* Strong organizational skills and basic IT literacy (Word/Excel).
