Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 alternating

Salary: starts from £536 per week, £27,904 per year

The Bagging Machine Operative is responsible for operating and monitoring the bagging machine within a frozen chicken production environment. The role involves ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the equipment while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.

• Monitor the correct filling and sealing of bags
• Carry out regular quality checks on packaging (seal integrity, weight accuracy, labelling, and product presentation)
• Promptly identify and address any defects or non-conformances
• Perform basic machine adjustments and minor repairs to minimise downtime
• Report any technical issues requiring maintenance support

The operative is responsible for completing all relevant production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately and in line with company procedures and legal requirements. Working in a frozen environment, the role requires adherence to health and safety, hygiene, and cold-store working practices at all times, as well as effective communication with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams.
