An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Factory Manager to join an established and growing manufacturing business in Grantham.
We are looking for a hands-on, commercially aware manufacturing professional who can take ownership of day-to-day site operations while continuing to drive improvements across production, assembly, warehouse and supply chain activities.
Working with the Production Supervisor and wider management team, you will lead from the front, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety, efficiency and employee engagement. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Your responsibilities will include:- Overseeing day-to-day production, assembly and warehouse operations, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring output targets, quality standards and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
- Leading, motivating and developing employees through both direct and indirect reports, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Managing production plans and scheduling in collaboration with Head Office and site teams, communicating priorities clearly across the operation.
- Monitoring operational performance and analysing production data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, improving efficiency, reducing waste and making effective use of labour, materials and other resources.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, environmental, HR and quality policies and procedures across the site.
- Maintaining appropriate risk assessments and safe systems of work, promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the business.
- Managing and developing effective relationships with suppliers, customers, contractors, colleagues and other key stakeholders.
- Supporting R&D projects, product development, samples and pilot production runs.
- Providing accurate and timely operational reports to the Operations Director and other key stakeholders.
- We are looking for someone who can demonstrate previous experience in a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or Site Manager position within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing production or factory operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop a team.
- Experience of continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing principles.
- Good knowledge of production planning, scheduling and workload management.
- A strong understanding of health & safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Experience or knowledge of supply chain, supplier management and inventory control.
- The ability to monitor and interpret KPIs and production performance data and turn this into practical improvements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good IT skills, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- £50,000 - £55,000 salary
