ScheduleFull-Time, Monday–Friday, with on-call rotation every 6–8 weeks (required)

Position SummaryThe Infection Preventionist/Staff Development plays a key role on our clinical leadership team, serving as the facility’s expert in infection prevention and control. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring evidence‑based practices to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases among residents, staff, visitors, and the surrounding community. Additionally, this role provides staff development support, including new‑hire orientation and ongoing clinical training.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze infection data; maintain records of healthcare‑associated infections.
- Conduct outbreak investigations and lead response efforts.
- Coordinate and lead orientation for new hires.
- Educate clinical leaders on infection prevention protocols and best practices.
- Investigate infection‑related incidents and report to appropriate departments.
- Provide guidance on managing infectious residents and related concerns.
- Lead facility infection risk assessments with executive and clinical leadership.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention plan.
- Conduct ongoing infection surveillance and policy compliance audits.
- Deliver staff education and training programs.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance standards, audits, and research initiatives.
- Coordinate reporting and communication with federal, state, and county health departments.
- Active RN license in good standing in the State of Oregon.
- Current Infection Control certification (CIC).
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
