- Manages the daily operations of the Center
- Collaborates with staff and faculty to plan and evaluate short and long-range program goals, and act as a liaison between day and evening programs and staff.
- Develops, coordinates, and conducts workshops and presentations in the Center and classrooms to support student persistence, retention, and completion.
- Implements all testing and proctoring services in the Center, including scheduling, proctoring, identifying potential proctors for hire, management of proctors, and testing area oversight.
- Manages all tutoring services in the Center, including scheduling, identifying potential tutors for hire, management of tutors, and tutoring area oversight.
- Meets with students and tutors to plan, review and modify tutorial needs.
- Makes presentations to classes and other groups to publicize Center services.
- Develops and coordinates logistics, establishes timelines, and develops policies and procedures for Center events, testing services, the tutoring program, and other programs designed to support student success.
- Works with other departments and programs to provide students assistance and to coordinate services.
- Serves on committees as appropriate or assigned.
- Ensures the collection and assessment of data regarding Center effectiveness.
- Meeting with faculty of gateway courses prior to start of semester to determine major themes or curriculum that need to be addressed in course.
- Reviews student performance with faculty and ensures that a schedule of tutoring sessions is available and promoted to students.
- Provides weekly feedback between tutors and faculty on center usage.
- Meets with tutors weekly to review CRLA certification tracking, student issues, and general topics that pertain to the Center.
- Completes reports and audits required by the national testing companies.
- Researches and develops material for tutor training sessions; tutor training sessions will follow CRLA guidelines in pursuit of CRLA level 1 certification for the tutoring program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred:
Experience with tutoring, testing, and student support services in a community college or university.
- Environment: Work is normally performed indoors.
- Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.
- Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
- Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
