Registered Behavior Technician

About the Role

Behavior Change Institute (BCI) is a nationally recognized leader in ABA therapy. We are expanding our team in Grants, NM and are seeking motivated individuals to become Registered Behavior Technicians. This role includes paid training to obtain the RBT credential.

• Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Collect data and complete clinical documentation.
• Support clients in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings.
• Communicate with clinical supervisors and caregivers.
• Maintain professionalism and ethical standards at all times.

• Must be available at least four afternoons per week (3–7 pm MT).
• Preferred recurring schedules:
  • Monday–Wednesday–Friday & one weekend day.
  • Monday–Thursday.
  • Monday–Friday.
  • Weekend shifts available if paired with weekday availability.

• No RBT credential? Training is provided and paid.
• Complete a 2‑week Behavior Specialist Academy.
• Begin working with clients while preparing for the RBT exam.
• Take the RBT exam within 60 days (Pearson testing center provided).
• Already certified? You may begin services sooner.
• BCI is an approved RBT training provider.

• 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass background check and provide references.
• Reliable transportation.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain RBT credential within required timeframe.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs (preferred, not required).

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, or run as needed.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to support clients who may engage in physically aggressive behaviors.
• Full vision, hearing, and verbal communication required.

• $2 per hour after‑hours pay differential (before 8 am, after 6 pm, weekends).

BCI employees can apply for an educational stipend offered independently through the Center for Health Innovation. If accepted into the program and you earn your RBT certification, Center for Health Innovation may award a $5,000 stipend to support your professional development.

• This stipend is provided and managed entirely by CHI—not BCI.
• Employees must apply directly through CHI and meet their program eligibility requirements.
• Funding decisions are made solely by CHI.
