Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

Solara Search is excited to be working with an established DFW specialist subcontractor to hire an experienced Controller for its Grapevine headquarters.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a long-standing Controller seat with a proper handover.

The incoming Controller will work alongside the existing Controller, who is preparing to retire giving them time to learn the business understand the team and get fully up to speed before taking the reins.

It is a broad role with responsibility across accounting and finance with additional oversight across areas including IT and HR.

You’ll work closely with the President, managers and operations team and will be responsible for ensuring the business has accurate financial information, strong controls and clear visibility across jobs, cash flow and performance.

• Job costing
• WIP accounting
• Percentage-of-completion accounting
• Construction billing
• Cash-flow management
• Internal controls and accounting compliance
• Oversight of the wider accounting function
• Construction accounting systems / ERP
• Close partnership with operations and senior leadership

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction-industry accounting experience
• Strong understanding of financial statements and cash flow
• Experience with construction accounting software or ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

This would suit someone who is technically strong but also comfortable working closely with operations and senior leadership in a hands-on environment.
