Job Title: Extended Day Program Site Aide - Summer Temporary Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt/Seasonal Temporary

Primary

Purpose:

Responsible for assisting the Site Coordinator in implementation of the extended care program’s daily activities at their individual site; supervision of the children in the program; and the communication with students, staff members, and parents.

This position will assist with the Extended Day Program Day Camps held over the school breaks and summer. Hours may vary from 7:00 a.m.

- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Some college preferred, but not required

Education or Early Childhood experience preferred

Ability to work well with children

Effective communication skills

• Supervise children at the program
• Provide a fun, safe, and positive environment
• Communicate with staff, students and parents
• Follow security measures in place to maintain the safety of the children
• Assist in implementing the program’s daily activities
• Help to keep a clean and orderly program.
• Prepare and serve snacks

• Develop professional skills and knowledge appropriate to the job assignment
• Participate in staff development by attending staff meetings as assigned
• All other duties as assigned

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), the ability to cope with emotional situations and stress; maintain control when under stress;
Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors, and the public;
Anticipate moderate stooping, bending, and lifting in addition to pushing/pulling equipment during set-up and clean-up;
