Responsibilities- Design electrical distribution systems starting from the utility source to the customer panel boards then to receptacles and equipment loads
- Perform site visits to document and assess existing electrical systems
- Select lighting fixtures and lighting control systems to comply with energy codes
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, to ensure that installation and operation conform to building codes, industry standards and customer requirements
- Create construction documents using AutoCAD and REVIT software
- Perform photometric lighting studies using AGi
23 software - Perform voltage drop, short circuit, and arc flash calculations along with load flow analyses using SKM Power Tools for Windows software
- Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, consultants, building officials, utility company representatives, owners, and internal staff members on projects
- Develop construction budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs
- Oversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Visit project sites to review progress and gauge conformance to construction documents
- Perform construction administration duties and review all construction document revisions with the Engineer of Record
- Four-year minimum degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- At least three years of recent experience as an Electrical PE in electrical building design
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills – Connections are a critical part of how we work
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and International Building Codes
- Knowledge or experience in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Other relevant programs could include Bluebeam, AGI-32, SKM Power Tools for Windows
This position is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting, but occasional walking and lifting up to 25 lbs may occur. Occasionally bending, squatting, and reaching overhead may also occur. Additionally, extensive computer usage is required daily.
Position Type and ScheduleThis is a full-time, exempt position with an expectation to work 40 hours per week. BHB offers flexible scheduling options, including five 8‑hour days or four 9‑hour days with a half day on Friday morning. While the start and end times can be adjusted, employees are expected to maintain a consistent schedule encompassing core business hours of 9 AM – 4 PM.
Overtime is requested at times to meet client needs.
