Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Assembly, test and operate existing and prototype equipment for performance, durability, reliability, customer fitness for use, and dealer‑installation tests. Perform mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic work in the shop and assure a safe shop work environment. Understand customer applications and use of Kubota products.

• Assemble and operate equipment for performance and durability tests for product engineers according to the specs of the equipment (prototype and production units).
• Prepare prototype machines for end‑of‑life destruction after testing and prepare test reports for engineering evaluation and approval.
• Verify installation instructions and manuals for technical information, ensuring quality installation to meet standards and compliance requirements, so each machine leaving the shop is 100% fit for use.
• Prepare and paint equipment for marketing presentations and provide technical support to Engineering, Advertising, Sales and Marketing Departments.
• Coordinate daily with the shop supervisor under direction from engineering manager and product engineers.
• Repair and maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Attend training seminars for new products, computer classes, and technical training at Kubota University.
• Share ideas regarding technology with colleagues and other departments, and demonstrate willingness to learn and improve product performance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or GED required. 2‑year associate’s degree preferred or 3 years relevant experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience with maintenance and operation of heavy equipment, off‑road mobile machinery, and independent mechanic work and tool ability.
• Experience with loading and rigging trailers preferred.
• Experience evaluating equipment and technical manuals preferred.
• Critical thinking and electrical/mechanical analysis techniques.
• Experience in 2–3 of welding, carpentry, steel fabrication, truck driving, diagnostics, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, reading drawings and schematics.
• Must be able to travel.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The position requires walking, standing, and sitting at a computer, work bench, ladders, scissor lifts, and personal protective equipment, and sometimes lying on the floor or in dirt/grass.

• All Kubota lines: tractors, turf, RTV and construction equipment with attachments and implements; the line needs to be assembled, tested, serviced or repaired accordingly.
• Office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone, printer and large screen monitors.
