As an Enterprise Systems Security Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and supporting BASIS and SAP systems hosted on RISE with SAP, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. In addition to core SAP responsibilities, this role will support broader infrastructure and security engineering operations. We are seeking someone with a strong foundational understanding of SAP Basis but with the desire to grow into wider Engineering and Security operations, particularly in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and to support cybersecurity initiatives, including management and patching of security infrastructure and applications.

This position sits on-site 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

SAP Basis Administration & RISE Cloud Operations:

• Manage and support SAP S/4
  
  HANA and other SAP landscapes hosted on RISE with SAP.
• Perform daily monitoring, health checks, and performance analysis of SAP systems to ensure optimal uptime and responsiveness.
• Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS), perform transport requests, and troubleshooting issues.
• Work on Early Watch reports, workload analysis and SAP tuning recommendations.

Database Administration (HANA & ASE)

• Monitor and maintain SAP HANA and SAP ASE (Sybase) databases for performance and backups.
• Perform database administration activities such as user management, performance tuning, and backup/restore operations.
• Manage HANA replication, partitioning, and encryption for secure and efficient data handling.
• Troubleshoot HANA DB performance issues and optimize SQL queries when required.

SAP BTP & Integration Management

• Support SAP BTP landscape operations, including Cloud Connector, Identity Authentication, and Integration Suite.
• Monitor and manage SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) and Multi-Bank Connectivity (MBC) integration resolve connectivity issues.

SAP Landscape Maintenance & Upgrades

• Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, support pack updates, and patches with minimal downtime.
• Manage and optimize SAP Fiori Gateway configurations for seamless UI/UX.

Security Engineering & Infrastructure Expansion Support beyond SAP

• Support efforts to modernize and integrate cloud-native solutions in AWS, including automation and monitoring tools.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives that span across SAP, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements that support security monitoring, backups, and compliance controls.
• Monitor and help remediate security vulnerabilities within SAP and surrounding infrastructure.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining infrastructure components managed by Cybersecurity Team.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to support the management of security operations across on-premises and cloud environments.

Required

• 5+ years of SAP Basis experience managing SAP landscapes in RISE with SAP or cloud-hosted environments.
• Strong experience with SAP HANA and SAP ASE (Sybase) database administration.
• Hands-on expertise in SAP system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning with experience on SAP Cloud Connector, SAP BTP administration, and integration tools (CPI, MBC, etc.).
• Proficiency in SAP SSO, SNC, OAuth, SAML, and security configurations.
• Knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (TMS), system copies, and backup strategies.
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM for system health monitoring.
• Understanding of SAP landscape scaling strategies.
• Experience working with SAP-hosted environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience resolving SAP applications, Basis, and DB performance issues.

Preferred

• SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP Basis or HANA Administration.
• AWS / Azure / GCP certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate) are preferred but not a must.
• Cyber Security Certifications or degrees are an added advantage.
• Experience in SAP BW, SAP Fiori, and other SAP products is a plus.
• Demonstrated interest in expanding into security, cloud infrastructure and other non-SAP engineering roles is a strong plus.
