Shift
Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm; 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday 4:30 pm – 3:00 am;
Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
The Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and replacement of parts on servers sent to SMS for diagnosis and repair.
Responsibilities- Daily Responsibilities (90%):
- Inspect, test, and diagnose servers.
- Replace parts as needed.
- Conduct and analyze server stress tests.
- Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool.
- Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections personnel.
- Provide backup for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing.
- Maintain parts consumption.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Team Building & Leadership (10%):
- Maintain and nurture positive work environment.
- Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc.
- Follow process for system and parts management.
- Know the basics of server architecture.
- Know how to assemble components to make a server functional.
- Run and understand testing diagnostics.
- Understand basic networking architecture.
- Understand basic error codes.
- Able to troubleshoot common server errors and issues.
- Motivated to solve problems.
- Interested in constantly learning about servers and networking.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent technical experience; certifications in Server support and architecture desired. - Experience:
Troubleshooting and diagnosing servers; experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools; experience with replacing parts on servers; experience with server configuration. - Good written and verbal skills—needs to document errors and repairs.
- Industry/Environment:
Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environment. - Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Employees must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to tolerate a moderate to high noise level in a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
