Shift: PRN Variable (days, mid-shifts, nights but mostly days and mid-shifts)
Call requirement: At least 1 call shift per month; must live within 30 minutes of hospital
Experience: Requires 2 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma
Operating Room/Surgical Services: Fast‑paced, exciting department with excellent culture of teamwork among nurses, physicians, CSTs, anesthesia techs, and surgical support techs. Patient populations include Ortho, Trauma, Colorectal, Vascular, Neuro, GYN, ENT, Plastics, Urology, General.

Job Summary: The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care. The RN assesses, develops, and implements individualized plans of care, ensuring safe patient transitions.
Essential Functions OfThe Role

Conduct clinical assessments, identify and prioritize patient and family needs, evaluate care plans. - Clinical Inquiry:
Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, support evidence‑based practice changes, and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives. - Caring Practices:

- Knowledge and understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations and hospital protocols governing nursing care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, health promotion, disease management, medications, and adverse reactions.
- Knowledge of professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Clear communication verbally and in writing.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Observation and communication of changes in patient condition.
- Ability to provide age‑specific, quality, patient‑centered care.
- General computer skills:
Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification. - Major:
