Overview

Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pawnbroker/Retail Sales Associate) to join our team.

Pay: $11.00 to $14.00 per hour with earned commissions. Our associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.86 per hour on top of hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker/Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The role greets, engages, and assists customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, and participates in problem resolution. Associates work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Perform non-management open/close procedures.
  • Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays maintained.
  • Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle cash and negotiable items per policies and regulations.
  • Answer incoming calls per company standards.
  • Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; contribute to a positive customer experience.
  • Complete training and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, etc.).
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math; cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
