Position: Staff Mobile App Engineer

Game Stop is seeking a Staff Mobile App Engineer to define and drive the long-term technical strategy for our mobile applications. This role operates across multiple teams, influencing architecture, platform direction, and engineering excellence while enabling scalable, innovative customer experiences.

This role is onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.What You'll DoDefine and drive the mobile engineering strategy for Game Stop's Power Packs ecosystem.

Lead architecture and design decisions across multiple products and engineering teams.

Build scalable frameworks, standards, and reusable solutions that improve development efficiency and consistency.

Solve complex technical challenges related to performance, reliability, scalability, and security.

Partner with Engineering, Product, and Business leaders to align technology investments with business objectives.

Provide technical mentorship to Lead and Senior Engineers.

Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, observability, and continuous delivery.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve customer and business outcomes.

What You'll Bring Expert-level React Native and Type Script practices

Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS and Android apps, including App Store and Google Play release processes

Strong understanding of state management tradeoffs: server state, form state, and local UI state

Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs (Axios, Apollo, or similar)

Experience with a mobile component library or design system (React Native Paper, Native Base, Tamagui, or similar)
Familiarity with React Navigation or Expo Router Comfort writing tests and working with mobile e2e test suites (Detox, Maestro, or Appium)
Experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, including familiarity with checkout and payment flows

Proficiency with Git-based workflows and mobile CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab CI, Fastlane, or similar)
Strong communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers
