This is a newly created position offering excellent exposure across financial accounting, reporting and finance projects. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, supporting both day-to-day accounting activities and ongoing improvements across the finance function. Assistant Accountant Responsibilities Complete regular bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding transactions Support month-end and quarter-end close activities across multiple entities Prepare balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, resolving differences where required Assist with financial reporting and ensure information is prepared accurately and on time Provide support during the external audit process Assist with VAT, corporate tax, payroll-related reporting and other statutory requirements Work with external advisers and third-party providers, ensuring information is supplied within agreed timescales Help document and improve finance procedures and internal processes Support the implementation and development of new finance systems and technology Get involved in wider finance projects and provide additional accounting support across the team Assistant Accountant Requirements Studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or equivalent accounting qualification Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role Good understanding of month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations Exposure to financial accounting, statutory reporting or tax would be advantageous Experience working across multiple entities or within an international organisation would be beneficial Good Excel skills SAP experience would be highly desirable Strong attention to detail with a confident and proactive approach Comfortable managing competing deadlines and working across different areas of finance Assistant Accountant Benefits 10% annual bonus Hybrid working arrangement Excellent opportunity to develop while progressing towards a professional accounting qualification On-site parking Exposure to a large international finance function Opportunity to gain experience across accounting, reporting, tax and finance projects Supportive and collaborative finance team Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
