Finance Manager

Kennedy Pearce are hiring a 12 month contract Project Accountant. We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and financial control experience to support a complex business divestment and carve-out programme. This role requires an immediate start. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced transformation environment, working across finance, operational and wider business stakeholders to ensure the successful financial separation of the business and readiness for Day 1.

The role will suit someone with experience in private equity, transaction services, consultancy, transformation, carve-outs or complex financial change programmes, who is comfortable operating in a delivery-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities Own and coordinate month-end close activities for carve-out entities, ensuring accurate and timely management accounts. Lead balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items, and manage intercompany differences. Support the preparation of opening balance sheets as part of the separation process. Oversee TSA accounting, recharges and related financial processes. Support separation accounting, including the identification and resolution of accounting issues arising during the carve-out.

Contribute to Day 1 financial readiness, ensuring appropriate controls, processes and reporting are in place. Support shared service disentanglement and the separation of finance processes and activities. Manage and support intercompany unwind activities throughout the separation. Assist with working capital, prepayment and balance sheet analysis. Maintain strong financial governance, controls and audit readiness throughout the programme. Prepare and maintain appropriate separation reporting and supporting documentation.

Work closely with finance, transformation, operational and other cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain programme progress. About You We are looking for someone who can combine strong accounting expertise with the ability to operate effectively in a complex transformation environment. Essential:
Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Strong technical accounting knowledge. Advanced Excel skills. Strong experience across month-end close, balance sheet control and financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to financial control. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex and changing environment. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
