Dispatch Team Leader

Overview

Prep World is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Dispatch Team Leader
. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in overseeing daily dispatch operations.

• Support the Dispatch Supervisor in managing loading bay, chiller areas, and finished stock movements
• Lead and coordinate dispatch operatives to ensure timely and accurate loading of vehicles
• Assist with planning and preparing orders for dispatch
• Ensure pallets are picked accurately and match picking orders before loading
• Carry out vehicle hygiene and suitability checks prior to loading/unloading
• Ensure customer‑specific security and transport requirements are followed
• Communicate any delays or issues promptly to the Dispatch Supervisor or Production/Operations Manager
• Oversee forklift and PPT movements in the loading and yard areas, ensuring safe working practices
• Contribute ideas for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing performance
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure “Clean As You Go” is followed at all times
• Support stock rotation, stock accuracy, and correct product handling
• Assist with managing yard organisation, vehicle flow, and bay allocation
• Provide hands‑on support during busy periods, including manual handling and working in cold‑store environments
• Ensure team members follow all H&S and food safety procedures
• Report accidents, near misses, and non‑conformances immediately
• Support cross‑departmental communication and teamwork

• First Aid or Fire Marshal training (advantageous)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lead by example and motivate a small team
• Good delegation and follow‑up skills
• Strong emotional control and professionalism
• Good numerical and literacy skills
• Competent IT and system skills
• PPT training (electric pump truck)

• Level 1 (L1): £13.37 per hour
• Level 2 (L2): £14.21 per hour
