ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking an experienced Tarmac Paver Operative to join our team on a busy projects in Kent
. You will be responsible for operating and assisting with asphalt paving equipment to ensure high-quality road, pathway and surface installations.
This role requires a strong understanding of paving operations, a sharp attention to detail and a firm commitment to health and safety standards at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Operating and controlling tarmac / asphalt paving machines safely and efficiently
- Assisting in the laying, spreading and levelling of asphalt materials
- Monitoring machine settings to ensure correct depth, width and alignment
- Working closely with site supervisors, ground workers and roller operators
- Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance on paving equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed to project specifications and deadlines
- Assisting with manual tasks when required, including shovelling and raking
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Adhering to all site health, safety and environmental procedures
- Valid Paver Ticket / Machine Operator Certification – CPCS or NPORS (CSCS-affiliated)* (mandatory)
- Proven experience operating asphalt / tarmac paving machines
- Good understanding of paving processes and site operations
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices on site
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Right to work in the UK
- CSCS Card
- Previous experience on highways or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Additional plant tickets – roller, dumper or similar*
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
- 5+ years of tarmac / asphalt paving experience
* Please note:
to comply with client requirements, we can only accept NPORS cards that are CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram. If you do not currently meet this requirement, please still get in touch – we are happy to guide you through the transfer process.
