We are seeking to appoint Midday Supervisors to join our dedicated team.

Ifield School is a Foundation co-educational Special School for pupils aged 4 to 19 years with Profound, Severe and Complex learning needs including communication and interaction difficulties. The majority of pupils have learning difficulties associated with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication and, in addition, some pupils have complex medical conditions.

The Midday Supervisor post is for 10 hours per week, term time only, Kent Scheme A (FTE £24,513 per annum pro rata) + SEN Allowance. Working days and hours are Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 1.30pm.

The post holder is required to work for 39 weeks per year. In addition, the post holder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day.

The role of Midday Supervisor involves supervising and interacting with pupils, supporting pupils learning inside and outside of the classroom. The duties will include mealtime and playtime supervision and some of our pupils and older students also require support and assistance with personal care.

This is an exciting school-based opportunity for those who are interested in supporting the wider development of children. Experience of Special Educational Needs would be preferred although is not essential when applying for this post.

The ideal candidate must share our commitment to ensuring the high standard of care, wellbeing, safeguarding and safety of our pupils and should:

  • Be calm, assertive and resilient.
  • Be fun, friendly and reliable and passionate about working with children.
  • Be able to use own initiative.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and the leadership team.
  • Be eager to develop their skills to contribute towards the whole school development.

What we can offer the candidate:

  • Joining a supportive workforce throughout the School, who will share their expertise, support and knowledge.
  • Supported by a consistently high-quality leadership team.
  • Entitlement to Kent Rewards and KCC employee benefit scheme.
  • Enrolment in local government Pension Scheme.
  • Focus on Mental Health & Wellbeing with access to key services including a free counselling support line.
  • Comprehensive CPD programme.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Self-Disclosure Form and in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and will also be subject to an online search.
