Overview
Nurture Teacher – Sunderland. This long‑term role supports secondary‑aged pupils who are working below expected levels, helping them build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
RoleFull‑time position, Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with an early finish on Fridays (8:30 am – 3:30 pm). This is a long‑term placement.
Responsibilities- Teach secondary‑aged students with additional learning and emotional needs.
- Deliver tailored lessons to meet individual learning levels.
- Support pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience with in SEN, nurture groups, alternative provision or behavioural settings – desirable.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
- Ability to differentiate learning for students working below age‑related expectations.
All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and other safeguarding procedures.
