Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated primary school team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils both in the classroom and through targeted intervention programmes.

About the Role

As a HLTA, you will:

Deliver planned learning activities to whole classes, small groups and individual pupils in the absence of the class teacher or under their guidance.

Support teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2 to help pupils make excellent progress.

Lead intervention sessions that meet the needs of learners with a range of abilities.

Establish high expectations for behaviour and maintain a positive, purposeful learning environment.

Work closely with teachers and other members of staff to support pupil achievement and wellbeing.

Assist with assessment, preparation of learning resources and contribute to the wider life of the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification.

Has successful experience working within a primary school setting.

Is confident leading learning with whole classes, as well as delivering effective support to both small and larger groups of pupils.

Has excellent behaviour management skills and can build positive relationships with children.

Demonstrates strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.

Is enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

Has a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
