Overview

Bookkeeper
Location: Meopham, Kent.
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE).
Job Type: Permanent | Full-time.

Vector Recruitment Solutions are working with a growing business utilities business who are looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to support their finance and operations team. This is a key role for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in bookkeeping and Xero, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

The Accounts Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate records, timely payments, and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping using Xero
    , including purchase ledger, sales ledger and debtor management
  • Processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee payment records
  • Creating invoices and credit notes
  • Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts
  • Processing BACS payments, preparing cheques and completing monthly payment runs
  • Managing staff expenses and ensuring correct approvals
  • Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring invoices are paid on time
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining organised financial and administrative records
  • Providing general administrative and finance support to management
About You
  • Previous experience in an Bookkeeper or Finance Administrator or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and VAT
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Professional, reliable and able to work independently
  • Experience working in the Utilities, Construction or similar industry would be advantageous
