Overview
As a Hygiene Team Leader and Prep World
, you will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out all aspects of cleaning and sanitation across the food manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring that production areas, equipment, and machinery are cleaned to the highest food hygiene standards within a busy fresh-cut fruit factory environment.
- Leading the Hygiene Team
- Ensuring good housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the plant and reporting all non-conformances to the Hygiene Manager/Supervisor
- Monitoring and reporting corrective actions and preventing re-occurrences
- Ensuring that all cleaning and sanitation processes are completed in full and hygiene standards for a given area are maintained during the production shift
- Using cleaning chemicals, pressure washers and pressure water hoses
- Maintaining stocks of PPE and disposables and ensuring availability throughout the production shift
- Operating, maintaining, and monitoring cleaning and tray wash machinery and equipment, including chemical and maintenance checks, escalating any issues to a Hygiene Supervisor or Manager immediately when required
- Ensuring GMP and GHP standards are effectively monitored and maintained in the area at all times
- Ensuring that the hygiene team work safely within COSHH guidelines
- Training new staff in hygiene procedures and maintaining training records and related documents
- Delegating tasks fairly to all team members and assisting them to complete in a timely manner
- Ensuring systems and files are in place and maintained, along with customer requirements for hygiene practices at site, to satisfy all audits
- Completing safety checks and start-up checks, following required processes and documentation requirements, and taking necessary action where deficiencies or non-conformances are found
- Coordinating breaks and absences to ensure coverage
- Maintaining excellent communication throughout the department to ensure hygiene plans are adhered
- Embedding the highest food safety and hygiene standards throughout the team
- Responsible for completing the hygiene control sheets/schedules
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in a supervisory role within a production environment
- Proven communication skills with the ability to motivate others
- Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
- Ability to resolve routine problems using well defined procedures, identify and respond to trends
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Good attention to detail
- Good IT skills/knowledge

Competitive hourly pay starting at £13.88, increasing to £14.40 at Level 2 and up to £15.89 at Level 3, depending on experience, with weekly pay.
