Are you ready to take the next step in your career within laboratory testing? FM Conway is seeking a Materials Technician to join our Aggregate and Asphalt team. In this role, you will play a key part in upholding the highest quality standards across our products, helping to ensure our customers continue to receive the very best service and results. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our laboratory in Gravesend, Kent.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all routine quality control testing and inspections, both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Ensure that any testing and inspections are carried out at the correct frequencies, to the correct standards and completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain the highest standards throughout the entire process, ensuring that accurate and factual reports can be issued to both internal and external clients by the Laboratory Manager
  • Comply with UKAS and ISO 9001 processes and ensure ongoing compliance is maintained
  • Record all test results, observations and remarks accurately and keep records up to date
  • Report all incidences in a correct and timely manner
Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates with solid experience in aggregate and asphalt testing. Essential skills include a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team. A full UK driving license is also required for this role.
