Trainee Bus Driver £12.71 - £19.35 per hour
Start your bus driving career with Arriva at our Northfleet depot, where you will be at the heart of your community. Whether it is getting commuters to work, helping customers with quick shop trips or transporting children to school, bus drivers play an essential role in connecting our customers to what matters most.
Pay- During Training (first 4‑6 weeks) – £12.71 per hour
- After Training – up to 6 months service – £13.67 per hour
- After Training – 9+ months service – £16.85 per hour
- Weekends – £14.67 rising to £17.85 after 9+ months service
- Overtime – £13.67 rising to £17.86 after 9+ months service
- Weekend & BH Overtime – £14.67 rising to £19.35 after 9+ months service
- Drive the bus safely along the assigned routes, adhering to timetables and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting passengers and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and report any mechanical issues.
- Build positive relationships with passengers and become a valued part of the community.
- Work closely with a mentor during the final weeks of training.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- UK driving licence with a minimum of 6 months driving experience.
- No more than 6 points on your licence.
- Pass a drug and alcohol test and an English comprehension test.
- Excellent people skills and flexibility to work shifts as early as 4am and no later than 1am.
A rotating shift pattern of 5 days in 7, published up to 6‑8 weeks in advance. Mornings start from 04:00, Afternoons from 12:00 and Evenings from 18:00.
