Estate Surveyor

Position: Estate Surveyor (Contract)
Estate Surveyor – Essex / Hybrid – £400 per day (Umbrella)

A Local Authority is seeking an experienced Estate Surveyor to join its Corporate Property Team. Reporting to the Estate Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s Corporate Property Strategy and managing a diverse property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver condition surveys, asset reviews and performance monitoring across the estate
Lead property transactions and support a rolling asset management programme
Provide strategic property advice to Council departments and major projects
Manage tenant liaison, debt control and reactive repairs
Contribute to the development of property strategies, policies and Cabinet reports
Engage with external stakeholders, including government bodies and consultants
Support project delivery and oversee external service providers where required

About You:

Proven experience in estate/property management, ideally within the public sector
Strong knowledge of asset management, landlord & tenant matters and property strategy
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing reports for senior stakeholders or committees
Professional qualification (e.g. MRICS) desirable
