Security Officer

Location: West Thurrock

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join a busy trailer yard operation in West Thurrock.
This is an important role responsible for protecting valuable assets, monitoring vehicle and trailer movements, and ensuring that only authorised personnel and vehicles enter or leave the site.
You will act as the first line of defence against theft, unauthorised access, and security breaches, maintaining a strong and professional presence throughout your shift.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Monitor all vehicle and trailer movements entering and exiting the yard
 
* Verify driver, vehicle, and trailer details to ensure movements are authorised
 
* Prevent unauthorised removal of trailers, vehicles, and equipment from site
 
* Conduct regular site patrols and security checks
 
* Challenge and report suspicious activity in line with site procedures
 
* Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, visitors, and incidents
 
* Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies
 
* Liaise with site management, drivers, and emergency services where required
 
* Ensure all security protocols and site procedures are followed at all times
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold:
 
* A valid SIA Licence
 
* A valid Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
 
* A valid Criminal Record Check (DBS)

* Previous security experience within a transport, logistics, warehouse, or industrial environment is desirable
 
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to security
 
* Strong communication and decision-making skills
 
* The confidence to challenge unauthorised activity when required
 
* A professional, reliable, and trustworthy attitude
 
* The ability to remain vigilant and work independently

The Role
This site operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, therefore flexibility to work a range of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, will be required.
