Balfour Beatty Highways is looking for a Security Admin and Vetting Co-ordinator, to join the £1.2bn Lower Thames Crossing project — one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure schemes, involving major highways construction, bridges, viaducts, viaducts, utility diversions and an industry-leading carbon reduction commitment.

As Security Admin and Vetting Co-ordinator
, you ll manage the staff and visitors to the LTC project sites, taking the lead in managing the projects BPSS/SC vetting information, and act as a problem solver for security related enquiries.

What you ll be doing
  • Take lead and liaise with the Group Security Vetting Manager and manage the project’s BPSS/SC vetting information on the BBST portals.
  • Support with delivery of regular security Toolbox Talks
  • Ensure observance of project and site security rules throughout the team and supply chain, ensuring all suspected breaches are recorded and reported to the Security Manager
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and vetting department timescales, cascade information to the team
  • Submission of incidents to client and BB portal as directed by the Security Manager
  • To support the security manager and security operations manager in the updating, maintenance and implementation of policy and procedure.
  • To assist with the subcontractor security assurance process.
  • To support the project team with security issues, identify solutions and resolve within the parameters and security management arrangements
  • Support Security manager with maintaining security documentation
  • Facilitate access to project and construction areas for all staff, visitors, and contractors - arranging project inductions and required passes.
  • Assist with security related queries
  • Ensure information is stored in line with GDPR for all personnel employees/contractors.
  • Take personal responsibility in your actions in relation to both Balfour Beatty and client reputation.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and delivering Zero Harm
Who we re looking for
  • Previous experience in a Document Controller role.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written English.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft applications including SharePoint, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at work regulations.
  • Commitment to Equal Opportunities and treating everyone with respect.
  • Good understanding of GDPR requirements.
  • Ability to achieve security clearances including BPSS and SC.
  • Ability to enforce security requirements to maintain and support a robust security culture across all levels of personnel
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines, with a flexible attitude towards work in order to deal with a variable and demanding workload
