The salary range for this position is $18.98 - $24.68 per hour. Placement within the salary range depends on relevant experience and other factors. See Benefits below for a summary of the full rewards package.

Description
  • This is a full‑time (40 hrs per week) position located at the Grayslake clinic, Monday through Friday.
  • Medical Assistants support physicians, nurses, and other staff to facilitate efficient patient flow and provide administrative support.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining clinic cleanliness, patient confidentiality, and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient patient flow
    • Escort patients to exam rooms and identify them with two identifiers.
    • Obtain accurate vital signs per organization standards.
    • Document reason for visit and update allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information.
    • Alert provider and RN of significant vital sign changes or acute symptoms.
    • Set up equipment and supplies needed for the visit.
    • Clean and prepare exam room for the next patient.
    • Respond to needs to expedite visits and adjust priority of tasks.
  • Assist with medical and surgical procedures per established protocols (e.g., ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection).
  • Provide high‑quality care
    • Prepare and stock exam rooms as per disinfecting and sterilizing protocols.
    • Participate in environmental safety rounds.
    • Maintain vaccine/medication inventory.
    • Monitor and maintain equipment and instruments per clinic guidelines.
    • Assist in ordering supplies and dispose of expired items correctly.
    • Adhere to office opening and closing procedures.
  • Promote patient satisfaction by interacting professionally and friend lily
    • Accept and perform delegated responsibilities positively.
    • Offer assistance to colleagues.
    • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
    • Communicate appropriately with patients and team (in‑office and on the phone).
  • Perform delegated procedures common to the specialty area safely and efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications Required:
  • Proof of eligibility to write one of the five MA certification exams (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA).
  • Accepted documentation:
    • New MA graduates within 6 months must submit a letter from school or certifying body.
    • Non‑certified MAs or graduates past 6 months must submit a letter from the certifying body.
  • Within first six months, complete one MA certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA) after up to two attempts.
All Candidates/Incumbents:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
  • Sign acknowledgement that certification must be attained within 6 months as a condition of employment.
  • Strong computer skills.
Preferred:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • 1–2 years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
