Josselyn is a nonprofit community mental health center serving more than 7,500 children, adolescents and adults annually. It has a strong commitment to quality and affordable care.

Base pay range

$47,500.00/hr - $65,000.00/hr

Eligible for a limited‑time $3,000 sign‑on bonus for therapists hired and starting in our Waukegan and Grayslake locations by the end of October.

Job Summary

The Staff Therapist is responsible for providing clinical services to children, adolescents and/or adults, as assigned, to help Josselyn achieve its vision of Mental Health For All. The therapist is responsible for all assigned clinical, administrative, quality and compliance responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Metrics
  • Provides high quality services of therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and client‑centered consultation to clients and their families.
  • Maintains direct service hours per month of 60 %.
  • Keeps detailed, confidential records of client sessions, progress, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Creates and updates IMCANS IATP assessments within 30 days of the initial meeting, and completes the LOCUS in a timely fashion.
  • Enters progress notes into the EMR no more than three business days from the date of service.
  • Makes the EMR calendar and other primary sources up to date.
  • Coordinates care with other clinical staff and internal/external providers.
  • Attends and participates in clinical presentations and all required meetings.
  • Responds to outreach and coordination regarding client fees/payments.
  • Participates in accreditation and certification processes, committee work, strategic planning, and community‑related services.
Required Qualifications
  • Clinically related graduate degree (e.g., M.A. in Counseling, MSW, MSMFT, Psy.

    D, Ph.D. in Psychology) qualifying for a QMHP in Illinois.
  • Submission and acceptance of three current professional references demonstrating clinical work performance.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) at a professional level.
