Position OverviewThe Lead, Kitting/Assembly is responsible for the accurate and efficient building of bulk product into value‑added packages for our customers.
Shift
Hours:
11:00 am to 7:30 pm.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all General Worker duties and responsibilities.
- Direct employees to finish kitting/assembly and report next assignment to Supervisor.
- Update SQDIP board and complete basic problem solving.
- Review work instructions for assembly requirements; understand and communicate job ticket details.
- Anticipate needed supplies and maintain inventory at proper levels; notify supervisor of shortages.
- Collect temporary worker timesheets and conduct initial review for accuracy.
- Coach and support personnel while running small kits.
- Provide training as needed.
- Assist in duties when supervisor is absent; provide direction to temporary workers.
- Set up production line for a production cycle and get first piece approval for each job/sub‑job.
- Control and adjust machine settings as necessary.
- Produce required kit/sub‑kit assembly, verify product quality and package on moving line for protection.
- Monitor lines to ensure optimum speed and quality.
- Troubleshoot problems during kitting & assembly and report issues.
- Accurately complete all Load Tags and prepare product for next operation.
- When processing mail, meet all USPS regulations and guidelines/requirements; apply postage and mailing labels; complete necessary paperwork to move product through the mail stream efficiently.
- Perform maintenance to department equipment or facilitate preventative maintenance work.
- Track job costs/production hours as applicable.
- Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter‑free workplace, reporting unsafe conditions and ensuring department meets/exceeds safety requirements.
- Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); four plus years of relevant industry experience or 520 hours as an Imagine temporary employee with manager’s approval to hire full‑time.
- 1+ years of experience in printing, manufacturing, distribution and/or fulfillment.
- Willingness and ability to obtain high school diploma or GED within a reasonable period if not already possessed (tuition reimbursement provided).
- 1+ years of experience using BVM Shrink Wrapper, Tape Machines, Conveyors, Piece Scales, Poly Bagger and Pallet Wrappers.
- Ability to speak Spanish and English (bilingual).
- Basic computer skills including email, mouse, keyboard and menu navigation.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements).
- Ability to communicate/understand basic written and verbal instructions.
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
- Frequent standing for prolonged periods.
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
USD $17.93 – $21.00 /hr.
Pay StatementThe national pay range for this role is listed above. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographical location. The actual pay offered may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
