Seeking applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach AC and DC Electronics classes for the Natural Gas Technician program. Candidates should be able to teach basic lessons in AC and DC Electronics, including industry acronyms, electrical units such as Ampere, Voltage, and Ohms, and the functioning of Protons, Electrons, and Neutrons in electricity.
Applicants should be able to define standard unit prefixes like Deci, Centi, Milli, Micro, Nano, and Pico. The curriculum includes DC circuits focusing on resistor identification, Ohm's law, Watts' law, and Kirchhoff's law, with classroom exercises and lab work wiring circuits on breadboards. Knowledge of Series and Parallel circuits, Wheatstone Bridge, and AC circuits involving Sine Waves, Oscilloscopes, and Frequency Generators is required.
The instructor will teach capacitor, inductor, and transformer formulas, along with related formulas for RLC, RC, and RL circuits. Labs will involve wiring capacitor and inductor circuits. Must be proficient with scientific calculators and teaching their use for specific calculations. Instruction will include written quizzes/tests and visual aids.
Applicants should have industry-standard certifications and relevant work experience. A Bachelor's degree and post-secondary teaching experience are preferred but not required.
