The Teller is a key front-line representative of Montana Credit Union, delivering friendly, accurate, and efficient service to members. This position is responsible for processing routine financial transactions, maintaining accurate cash handling, and assisting members with day-to-day banking needs. Tellers engage members in the lobby, drive-thru, and via Personal Teller Machines (PTMs), ensuring each interaction reflects professionalism, courtesy, and a service-first mindset.

Guided by Montana Credit Union’s core values of Innovation, Dedication, Empowerment, and Authenticity, this role helps create meaningful member experiences while promoting the credit union’s products and services. Tellers contribute directly to member satisfaction and loyalty, helping individuals achieve their financial goals while maintaining operational accuracy and compliance. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills in a dynamic, member-facing environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Integrity, honesty, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
  • Service-oriented, empathetic, and adaptable to member needs.
  • Comfortable using technology and engaging members via video or in-person.
  • Reliable, flexible, and team-focused.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of cash handling and balancing procedures.
  • Proficiency in core computer applications; ability to learn credit union systems quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures accurately.

    Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to provide alternative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including operating Personal Teller Machines in a closed-room setting.
