Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist in this role, you will be responsible for providing critical respiratory care to patients of all ages. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage patients with various respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions, ensuring high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and aerosolized medications
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, and chest physiotherapy
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory care practices, home care, and disease management
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting therapies as needed
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and diagnostic results
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
  • Adhere to all hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
  • Respiratory Therapy (RRT or CRT) certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
  • State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Montana
  • 1+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, ideally in a clinical or hospital setting

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in administering respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic procedures
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory diseases, patient care techniques, and therapies
  • Ability to assess, monitor, and adjust patient care based on clinical feedback
  • Effective communication skills for patient education and teamwork
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm during emergencies
