TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS Telecom) – a leader in fiber internet and telecommunications solutions. Located in the area surrounding Great Falls, MT, this role requires residency within a 60‑minute drive of the warehouse at 2300 Vaughn Road, Great Falls, MT 59404.

We’re looking for a technician who will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications products and equipment, including fiber optic and copper cabling, key systems, PBX, centrex, and more.
In addition to technical tasks, the FST‑Network will provide proactive customer service and sales support, educate customers on TDS products, and may take on additional duties as needed.
Key features:
Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 (payout terms apply). Travel may be required; on‑call/standby responsibilities and overtime are possible.
- Install, troubleshoot, test, splice, repair, and maintain telephone and network equipment, customer premise equipment, fiber optics, and copper facilities for new and existing customers.
- Configure and maintain Key Systems, PBX, centrex, fibre terminals, ISPs, ISDN, DSL, T‑1s, DS3s, and other business systems.
- Locate and mark cable and fiber, operate pole climbing and construction equipment, perform cable fault acceptance tests, and maintain orderly logs.
- Provide technical support, respond to trouble dispatches, and maintain record systems such as cross‑connects, line groups, and network elements.
- Deliver excellent customer service, proactively educate customers, and promote TDS products and services.
- Manage installation projects and perform related supervisory tasks as directed.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience OR current/prior military service with honorable discharge.
- 6+ months experience with basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing, repair, installation, or switch training.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to follow TDS attendance guidelines and meet business needs.
- Successful completion of customer‑specific requirements (background check, safety course, DOT vehicle criteria).
- Availability for on‑call/standby, occasional travel, and overtime.
- Understanding of fiber and copper plant installation and troubleshooting, including structured wiring, video/CATV/DBS installation, and related systems.
- Proficiency with computer applications: databases, trouble/repair/dispatch systems, plant record systems, MS Office, and other common tools.
- Independent decision‑making and organizational skills; effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to operate manual‑transmission vehicles.

Pay TransparencyPay range: $25.13 /hr – $37.69 /hr. Final offers determined by skills, experience, location and role competences.
