- Support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of Malvern Panalytical instruments – from installation to ongoing service
- Diagnose and resolve issues independently, delivering accurate and effective service to maintain high customer satisfaction
- Provide operational training to customers – mainly during installation – to ensure safe and efficient use of our instruments
- Offer remote support via PC and phone, and travel extensively across the UK as needed
- Assist with helpdesk and training activities and provide timely documentation such as field service reports and mileage reports
- Continuously update your product knowledge, leverage all learning resources and share feedback to improve product quality
- Manage company assets responsibly, including spare parts, tools, vehicle, and software, in line with company guidelines
- Adhere to our code of ethics and professional engineering standards, performing all service activities in compliance with good laboratory practices
- HND or equivalent level in Electronics, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- Strong problem‑solving skills combined with a structured, independent approach that ensures consistent results – even in demanding situations
- Experience working directly on customer sites and thrive in a dynamic field service environment
- Hands‑on experience installing, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing analytical instruments
- Skilled in using diagnostic devices such as multimeters, flow meters, and other tools used to measure electronic and mechanical systems
- Solid understanding of circuits, wiring/connectors, analog/digital communications, power adapters, and transformers, plus familiarity with plumbing systems, gas distribution, flow control, and pressure chambers
- Experience in measuring material properties such as gas adsorption, chemisorption, particle size, density and/or porosity is an advantage
- Experience in working with laser‑based technologies and familiarity with optical components and alignment techniques
- Current, full UK driving license
