Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled, hardworking and enthusiastic mechanic to join our busy team.

Full time - 40hrs based on Tues - Sat 9am - 5pm

We are a small independent bike shop with a big heart, in a beautiful location and with a great local community. We are passionate about providing the highest level of service to our customers. We service and sell all styles of bikes - Road, Triathlon, Gravel, MTB, Touring, Kids, Cargo, Leisure; and electric versions of the above. Our team has vast experience in many cycling disciplines including road, MTB, trials, TT, triathlon, long distance touring, audax, gravel and more.

You will be in the heart of Great Malvern, a town nestled on the side of the Malvern Hills AONB. With great walking, running, cycling and even paragliding spots on your doorstep. It's no surprise there is a real love of the outdoors in the local community. Our hills may not be the tallest, but they are steep and challenging! Like a mini mountain range, easily accessible and rideable allyear.

With great XC, Enduro, gravelandroad rides to choose from. They have helped craft a host of internationally acclaimed local riders including Hattie Harnden, Evie Richards, Max Hinds, Tracy Moseley and Liam Kileen to name just a few.

Duties include:

  • Building new bikes
  • Thoroughly diagnosing problems to ensure accurate repairs
  • Undertaking all aspects of servicing from safety checks to major overhauls
  • Building and truing wheels
  • Undertaking E bike repairs and servicing including diagnostics/updates/inspections and fault finding
  • Carrying out specialist repairs such as frame correction work, reaming/facing etc
  • Fault finding on Di2 and AXS electronic drive trains.
  • Carrying out warranty work and completing claims with suppliers
  • Fitting Ridewrap vinyl frame protection
  • Completing all work to a high standard and in timely manner to meet or exceed customers expectations
  • Maintaining an accurate record of completed work
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workshop
  • Respecting all customers with a professional and friendly manner
  • Complying with health and safety regulations and using appropriate PPE when necessary

You may also be required to:

  • Maintain workshop stock levels and reorder as necessary
  • Provide quotes and updates to inform customers
  • Answer the phone, serve customers and operate the till when required
  • Ride to the top of the Malverns to photograph cloud inversions!
Skills/Experience Required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a bike mechanic
  • Qualified to Cytech level 2/3 or equivalent
  • Experience with a wide variety of modern bikes and equipment including electronic gears, electric bikes, hydraulic brakes, bearing systems, suspension systems etc
  • A good work ethic; hard working, energetic, communicative, honest, open and reliable
  • A passion and enthusiasm for cycling and bicycles!
  • Detailed product knowledge and willingness to keep up to date
  • Commitment to serve all customers with a friendly, helpful, informative and personable manner
  • Ability to work within a team and take instruction
