DescriptionThe Company
Morgan Motor Company has been handcrafting sports cars since 1909 and is one of the world’s pre-eminent coach builders. Pioneering its unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, every Morgan is handmade to order.
The historic home of Morgan is at Picker sleigh Road in Malvern Link, Worcestershire. This is the only place in the world where Morgan cars are built. Steeped in history, the hallowed red brick buildings are home to one of the most unique automotive production facilities in the world.
Morgan sports cars are hand crafted using three core elements: ash, aluminium, and leather. Every car is entirely unique, built to the highest standards by passionate craftsmen and women, whose skills are handed down through generations and perfected over a lifetime, bringing together heritage, innovation, and cutting-edge technology.
The role
We are looking for a dedicated and quality-driven Mechanical Fitter to join our Chassis Department. This role is crucial to the assembly of our handcrafted vehicles, involving the precise installation of key mechanical components to produce complete rolling chassis.
Working primarily independently within a structured team environment, you’ll be responsible for assembling core mechanical systems and ensuring vehicles are built to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble motor vehicles to the rolling or driving chassis stage within assigned bays
- Fit and install mechanical components including powertrain assemblies, steering racks, and braking systems
- Complete system fluid fills (brake fluid, lubricants) and perform related tests and quality checks
- Use a variety of hand, power, and air tools to carry out repetitive build tasks according to specification
- Operate computer terminals to input or retrieve vehicle build information as required
- Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with colleagues throughout the build process
- Support the training of new team members as necessary
Our production environment is varied and fast-paced, so flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential. You’ll be comfortable working across different production functions and teams, adapting to changing priorities and supporting colleagues to ensure we meet customer demand. You’ll take pride in sharing knowledge, developing your own skills and helping those around you succeed. With a collaborative approach, an eye for quality and a proactive, forward-thinking mindset, you’ll look for ways to improve how we work, build strong working relationships and go the extra mile to deliver exceptional results.
Above all, you’ll bring enthusiasm, individuality and a genuine passion for what you do, helping us create the unique Morgan experience and deliver the driving joy our customers know and love.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where all individuals feel valued and respected. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that their actions, communication, and decision-making reflect an appreciation for diverse perspectives. They will actively contribute to creating a welcoming environment for colleagues of all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences, and promote equality in both internal and external interactions.
A proactive approach to addressing potential barriers to inclusion and embracing a culture of openness and collaboration is essential for this role.
