When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources, and help it become a better place for everyone. It's why we're looking for someone who's just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life. We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
What we can offer you;
Access to our company pension scheme
Discounts on everything from groceries to well-known retailers
Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental, and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
24-hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household
One paid day's leave every year to volunteer and support your community
Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential
What you'll be doing:
The role will focus on developing and managing relationships with civil engineering contractors, earthworks companies, real estate developers, and remediation specialists. The successful candidate will identify immediate operational and compliance requirements, provide rapid and commercially competitive solutions, and coordinate effectively with Veolia's logistics, pricing, and operational teams.
Develop and deliver a strategic business development plan across the UK.
Identify, qualify, and convert high-value opportunities across three key customer groups: COMAH and Defence site owners, Engineering and environmental consultancies, Real estate owners and developers.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of premium, margin-accretive opportunities.
Own the complete sales lifecycle, from market identification and early engagement through to contract negotiation and close.
Engage senior stakeholders to help customers protect their reputation, manage legacy liabilities, and future-proof their assets against climate and regulatory change.
Build early-stage partnerships with engineering and environmental consultancies, positioning Veolia as a preferred delivery partner within project specifications and procurement processes.
Support real estate and development customers with comprehensive contamination solutions that unlock land value and accelerate development timelines.
Connect Veolia's investigation, remediation, soil treatment, and waste management capabilities to create integrated customer solutions.
Lead consultative discovery to understand customers' functional, financial, environmental, and reputational challenges.
Influence project requirements, specifications, and procurement strategies before formal tender stages.
Develop strategic account plans and map complex stakeholder and buyer pathways.
Lead cross-functional bid teams and coordinate internal specialists through the "One Veolia" approach.
Develop and present compelling, commercially robust proposals that demonstrate the value of Veolia's integrated solutions.
Secure contracts that reflect the strategic value of comprehensive environmental management rather than competing solely on price.
Promote sustainable alternatives to traditional "dig and dump" practices, including soil washing, material recovery, and legitimate reuse through CL:
AIRE Materials Management Plans.
Drive the adoption of lower-carbon engineering solutions, including bioremediation and in-situ chemical oxidation where appropriate.
Promote solutions for emerging contaminants such as PFAS, including high-temperature incineration for the permanent destruction of complex "forever chemicals".
Build long-term relationships with customers and demonstrate the commercial value of effective environmental risk and liability resolution.
Monitor and report performance across pipeline growth, account penetration, bid conversion, margin expansion, sustainability, and solution adoption.
Travel nationally to customer and Veolia sites as required.
What we are looking for:
Significant experience in business development, strategic sales, or commercial leadership within environmental services, remediation, waste management, infrastructure, engineering, consultancy, or a related sector.
Strong knowledge of contaminated land, environmental risk, remediation, soil treatment, waste…
