Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper, Central Harrogate Our client is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their small team in central Harrogate. This is a busy and varied position, providing day-to-day financial support to the business owners while working closely with their external accountants. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing financial transactions, supporting credit control and providing key financial information for budgeting and year-end accounts.

This role would suit an experienced, organised and reliable Bookkeeper who is confident working independently and who has excellent attention to detail and enjoys managing a varied workload. The client is looking to appoint as soon as possible, so early applications are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day bookkeeping activities Maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers Managing credit control and following up outstanding payments Checking payments and updating internal databases Preparing financial information and documentation for year-end accounts Assisting with the preparation of budgets for Director approval Providing financial information and reports to external accountants Dealing with accounts-related queries Supporting the business owner with general financial administration Skills required Previous bookkeeping experience essential AAT qualification advantageous but not essential Strong IT skills and confidence using accounting and database systems Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively Strong attention to detail and accuracy The ability to work independently and use initiative A reliable, professional and well-organised approach Whats on Offer Central Harrogate location with easy access to public transport, bus and train links 25 days holiday, including 8 bank holidays Monday to Friday, 9:00am5:30pm One-hour lunch break Fully office-based role Opportunity to join an established and busy business Immediate start available Apply Now If you are an experienced Bookkeeper looking for your next opportunity in Harrogate and are available to start soon, we would love to hear from you.
