The role, which sits within the Business Support Team, supports the Environmental Services Department to ensure high levels of customer service and provide initial advice and guidance to members of the public and businesses on all matters dealt with by the service. Applicants should enjoy working within a fast-paced environment and be used to delivering exceptional customer services in a proactive manner.

You must also be used to dealing with the general public in difficult and often challenging situations.

The applicant will be required to receive, log, and process complaints and enquiries from members of the public and businesses, ensuring all information is accurately captured and entered. To provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service. You will also be required to undertake a wide range of duties, including utilisation of various IT systems, raising purchase orders, assist with the processing of invoices, organise and attend meetings, including taking accurate minutes.

You will also support in maintaining the day-to-day operational support across the Department.

Those looking for part-time hours may be considered for the role but must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.

About You

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, have excellent organisational and communication skills, be numerate, literate and must be able to work well as part of a busy team. You should also have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel along with accurate keyboard skills. Candidates will need to have the ability to provide advice and guidance to the general public and businesses covering the wide range of issues dealt with by the Department.
